‘IBN7 Diamond States Awards’ is a path breaking editorial initiative in partnership with Outlook which look for such States of India ,which are working well towards its social responsibilities such as empowering women, reducing poverty and providing adequate security to its citizens etc. A glittering award ceremony was hosted on February 24, 2011 in Delhi to honor these states. On this note, Tamil Nadu won 3 awards followed by Kerala and Himachal Pradesh with 2 awards each. Best small state in the category ‘Education’ and ‘Employment’were won by Himachal Pradesh and Mizoram respectively. Delhi was chosen for Core Infrastructure as a small state. Other states like Gujrat, Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland etc won awards too for different categories.
The ceremony began with a live performance by Sadhya Group which rejuvenated the crowd and Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri. Mohammad Hamid Ansari graced the occasion as the Chief Guest by delivering the key note address. The award ceremony was attended by dignitaries and luminaries including cabinet ministers, chief ministers, eminent politicians, journalists and lawyers, bureaucrats and others.
The jury members who set the parameters from their respective brains were from IBN 18 Network Editorial Board and the Outlook Editorial Board comprising of Raghav Bahl, Rajdeep Sardesai, Ashutosh , Vinod Mehta and Neelabh Mishra. Eminent juries also became part of the selection procedure which included Dr. Bimal Jalan- Former RBI Governor and Chairman of the Jury, Mr. M Damodaran- Former Chairman SEBI, Dr. Bakul H Dholaki- Former Director IIM-A, Mr. TSR Subramanium- Ex Cabinet Secretary, Govt Of India, Dr. Shaibal Gupta- Secretary Asian Development Research Institute.
The selection process was done by secondary data through authentic sources and primary data from the research partner of the awards and KPMG, the independent knowledge partner managed the whole process and data collecting for various categories of the awards.
